Rivalries Never Die: The Titans Apparently Made The Texans Agree To Only Use A Certain Percentage Of 'H-Town Blue' In Their New Jerseys
I don't know how much of a rivalry can be based strictly on jerseys, but here we are. It's far from the first time we've seen the Texans/Titans get into a jersey war:
I come from a place with no bias. I simply don't give a shit about the Titans/Texans or really team in the AFC South. They are always just there and we know they'll play a Saturday playoff game no matter who is in it. But the Titans aren't the Oilers anymore. They moved. If the color is called H-Town Blue, that shit belongs in Houston. Not to mention this would be an elite jersey in the NFL:
Instead they could only use a certain percentage and ended up with this announcement today:
They aren't bad. It's not like the Texans have some incredible history with their look or anything. It's an upgrade plus the combos could be much better than what they had. That's my takeaway from the new jerseys. But ultimately Houston wearing that H-Town blue as a full jersey would have been AWESOME. The Titans shouldn't get to wear Oilers jerseys, in fact no one should. The Oilers don't exist anymore.
The Texans were one of the, if not the most fun team in the league last year. If you're the fun team, you get the look. That should be the ultimate rule. We're all suckers for points and yards and big plays, that's who the Texans were a year ago. It should almost be treated like a college football rivalry trophy. Whoever is more fun and/or wins gets the H-Town Blue jerseys.
